Hubungan Antara Komunikasi Orangtua Dengan Kecerdasan Emosional Anak Usia 5-6 Tahun Di Rapn Al-Hidayah Kecamatan Ujung Batu Kabupaten Rokan Hulu

This study aims to determine the relationship between parental communication
and emotional intelligence for children aged 5–6 years at Al-Hidayah
Kindergarten, Ujung Batu District, RokanHulu Regency. This research is
quantitative, using the correlation method. This research was conducted at TK Al-
Hidayah street Jendral Sudirman No. 186, Ujungbatu District, Rokan Hulu
Regency. The research was conducted in May 2023. The population for this study
was children aged 5–6 years and their parents at TK Al Hidayah Ujung Batu,
totaling 50 children, while the sampling technique used was a census sampling
technique, so that the research sample was 50 children. The data collection
techniques used are observation and questionnaires. The data analysis technique
uses the product-moment correlation test. The results of the study show that
parental communication in early childhood at Al-Hidayah Kindergarten, Ujung
Batu District, is already in the good category, such as caring, guiding, directing,
giving happy expressions, inviting children to communicate, and motivating
children. Early emotional intelligence at Al-Hidayah Kindergarten, Ujung Batu
District, is already in the developmental phase according to expectations (BSH),
such as children who can write with the right hand, talk to other people, hold
their emotions, and remember or read. There is a relationship between parental
communication and emotional intelligence for children aged 5–6 years in Al-
Hidayah Kindergarten, Ujung Batu District, with the level of the relationship
being in the moderate category and having a positive relationship. The magnitude
of the contribution of parental communication to children's emotional intelligence
in terms of influence was 29.8%, which means that there are still several other
determinants of children's school readiness that are not discussed in this study.
