Studi Heat Exchanger Pada Unit Digester Fiberline #1 Dissolving Pulp
In the chemical industry, heat exchangers (HE) are used to transfer a certain
amount of heat energy from one fluid to another, to lower or increase the
temperature of a fluid by using another fluid. In the pulp and paper industry, HE
is used in several processes, one of which is the hot black liquor recovery process.
The process aims to utilize the heat from the black liquor to heat water, the
resulting hot water is used as washing pulp in the bleaching unit. While the black
liquor whose temperature has been lowered is reused for the next cooking process.
In this final project, we learned about the HE#36 and HE#60 tools in the Fiberline
#1 Digester PT. RAPP. The two HEs are used to lower the temperature of the black
liquor and produce hot water. In this final project data obtained HE #36 and HE
#60 on the Digester unit at Fiberline #1 PT RAPP are shell & tube type HE, and
the amount of heat (Q) in HE#60 as same as Q in HE #36 which is calculated
based on fourier equation.
