ABSTRACT
Development expansion is the primary objective of regional development, including the territory in Riau Province. The goal of achieving equal development is to address social disparities and ensure equitable economic growth. The purpose of this research is to examine the level of interregional development disparity in Riau Province and how the growth rate of the economy, Human Development Index (HDI), industrial agglomeration, and agricultural agglomeration impact interregional development disparity. The research data is derived from secondary data obtained through a documentation process. This study consists of 72 observations spanning 6-year analysis period from 2016 to 2021, and it covers 12 regions in Riau Province. The calculation of per capita gross regional domestic product is used to analyse the level of development disparity, while panel data regression is employed to evaluate the relationship between variables. The level of interregional development disparity in Riau Province is classified as low, with a value of 0.32. The highest development disparity is found in Bengkalis regency, with a value of 0.90, while the lowest is in Kuantan Singingi regency, with a value of 0.05. The panel data analysis reveals that the growth rate of the economy and industrial agglomeration has a non-significant negative impact, while the Human Development Index (HDI) has a significant negative impact.
