ABSTRACT
Agricultural extension workers as part of efforts to educate the nation's life (especially oil palm farmers) and promote welfare which is generally one of the keys to success in order to strengthen farmer groups. Agricultural extension activities are one of the programs from the government in order to assist farmers in solving farming problems, especially oil palm farming. The purpose of this study is to know the role of agricultural extension workers in the development of oil palm farmer groups and find out what problems are faced by oil palm farmers in Tri Mulya Jaya Village, Ukui District, Pelalawan Regency. The method used in this study is a survey method with sampling techniques, namely the Purposive Sampling method, the number of samples in this study was 21 farmer groups consisting of advanced levels taken 10 from the management and 28 from members and the intermediate level taken 11 from the management and 31 from members so that a total of 80 samples. Data analysts use Descriptive and Likert Scale methods. The results showed that the role of agricultural extension workers in the development of farmer groups in Tri Mulya Jaya Village, Ukui District, Pelalawan Regency is quite good, the problems faced by oil palm farmers in the role of agricultural extension workers in the development of farmer groups, namely in terms of monitoring and evaluating the mastery of new innovations / technologies are relatively low. Meanwhile, in terms of problems with the development of farmer groups, namely the low achievement index of farmer groups.
