Strategi Pengembangan Usaha Penggemukan Sapi Potong Di Kota Tanjungpinang
Need for protein can be seen from the high demand for beef in
Tanjungpinang City. The increased demand for beef has not been matched by an
increase in production, so the City of Tanjungpinang still relies on cattle
production from the region. Based on these problems, it is necessary to make
efforts to increase beef production in Tanjungpinang City. The purpose of this
research is to analyze the technical gap (GAP Analysis) for beef cattle fattening
business in accordance with Cultivation Guideline Standards (SPB) and to
analyze beef cattle fattening business income as a reference in determining
internal and external factors and developing priority strategies for beef cattle
development in Tanjungpinang City.
This research was conducted in Tanjungpinang City from December 2022
to May 2023. The sample in this study were beef cattle fattening farmers. The data
obtained in this study were analyzed using a quantitative descriptive method while
the data analysis used was: 1) Gap Analysis (GAP Analysis), 2) Analysis of beef
cattle fattening business, 3) SWOT Analysis and 4) Analytical Hierarchy Process
(AHP).
Results showed that environmental condition indicators had a GAP
Analysis percentage of 50%, livestock breeds 33%, building conditions 56%, feed
availability 51% and livestock facilities and animal health 40%. Production cost
per period Rp. 88.754.960, gross income of Rp. 121,137,603, average net income
of Rp. 32,382,643 and the return cost ratio R/C 1.36. The priority strategy for the
development of agribusiness for fattening beef cattle in Tanjungpinang City is
establishing business partnerships with the government and the private sector,
developing agricultural and livestock areas in potential sub-districts by
implementing modernization, agribusiness field schools for livestock and training
in making highly nutritious animal feed, facilitating and conducting outreach
related to the KUR program, increasing the population of beef cattle, creating
alternative feed additives with agricultural waste, introducing agricultural feed
processing technologies and superior cattle breeds adapted to local conditions,
improving business management, strengthening the role and function of livestock
groups and replication of modern livestock from production centers.
