ABSTRACT
The poor living conditions of the community will have an impact on health, social problems, and decreased welfare. In order to minimize this, the government launched a housing assistance program called the Self Help Housing Stimulant Assistance. Self Help Housing Stimulant Assistance is assistance that aims to meet the housing needs of the community on the basis of mutual cooperation cooperate. This research was conducted in Sungai Tarab Village, Sungai Tarab District, Tanah Datar Regency which aims to determine the effect that occurs with the existence of Self Help Housing Stimulant Assistance which includes aspects of social life and what are the factors in the success of building houses through the BSPS program. This research is a survey research with a descriptive quantitative approach. The population of this study amounted to 106 beneficiaries with a sample of 51 beneficiaries selected by proportional sampling technique. Data collection is done through interviews, observation, and documentation. The results of this study indicate that the influence of BSPS on the social life of beneficiaries consisting of beneficiaries with large families and beneficiaries with the community is included in the low category. Furthermore, the indicator that determines the success of building a house with the BSPS program, which has the most influence is the quality of the house with a percentage of 98.0%. The existence of the BSPS program has had an impact on the community, namely the achievement of livable houses in accordance with health standards and increasing solidarity for beneficiaries who carry out mutual cooperation.
