ABSTRACT
The tradition of Turun Mandi Bayi in Pulau Mungkur Village, Gunung Toar District, Kuantan Singingi Regency is a form of celebration for the birth of a child as well as a form of gratitude to Allah SWT, previously the mother and baby were not allowed to leave the house by holding this Turun Mandi Bayi mother and baby can leave the house freely.The formulation of the problem discussed in this study is economic capital in the Tradition of the Baby Bathing Tradition in Pulau Mungkur Village, Gunung Toar District, Kuantan Singingi Regency. There were 7 informants from this study, wherein these informants consisted of traditional stakeholders, the leader of the Turun Mandi Bayi, and the community who had carried out the Turun Mandi Bayi tradition. This research on Economic Capital and Social Capital Tradition of Turun Mandi Bayi in Pulau Mungkur Village uses a qualitative descriptive type of research. The technique in this study was selected using a purposive sampling technique. The theory used is the theory of economic capital and social capital proposed by Putnam which consists of networks, norms, and beliefs. The results of the study show that economic capital and social capital are very important in the implementation of the Tradition of the Turun Mandi Baby Tradition in the Mungkur Island community. Economic capital and social capital are very important, namely with the existence of economic capital and social capital in the implementation of Turun Mandi Bayi In Pulau Mungkur Village it can be carried out because in the tradition of Turun Mandi Bayi requires economic capital, namely to buy the requirements for Turun Mandi Bayi, and capitalSocial activities are also very important in the tradition of Turun Mandi Bayi.
