Business Communication Strategy Of Riau Pos Daily Newspaper In Maintaining Existence In The Digital Era.

Entering the era of digitalization means the transition of all activities, which can already be done through online and gadgets. Digitalization makes information flow personally and instantaneously into homes. This is the magic of the latest information technology. However, this technological miracle has resulted in a decline in the number of print media readers. People are turning to the internet for information that is more efficient than reading printed media. One of the largest print media in Pekanbaru City, Riau Pos, still produces newspapers to this day in the midst of the digitalization era. Established since January 17, 1991. The time span passed has established Riau Pos as the "Market Leader" of print media in Sumatra. This research aims to find out the communication strategy of Riau Pos daily newspaper in maintaining the existence of print media in the era of digitalization.
This research aims to find out the communication strategy of Riau Pos daily newspaper in maintaining the existence of print media in the era of digitalization This research was conducted at Riau Pos. The research model used refers to Steve Cartaledge's strategic communication model, which is one of the communication strategy models that will see how the management of Riau Pos Daily Newspaper can maintain its existence as print media. This research uses descriptive qualitative research methods with data collection techniques used are interviews, observation, and documentation. The data analysis techniques used in this research are data reduction, presentation, and conclusions and verification. For data development to obtain data validity, researchers used the method of extension of participation and triangulation of data sources, namely Riau Pos Editor-in-Chief, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Riau Pos, Business Manager and Editor of Riau Pos Newspaper, and several customers of Riau Pos Daily Newspaper.
The results of this study are to show that the communication planning of Riau Pos daily newspaper is to adapt well and take advantage of technology, and maintain the pakem of Riau Pos daily newspaper, the form of communication channels of Riau Pos daily newspaper there are 2, namely print and online especially users, the form of audience analysis conducted by Riau Pos daily newspaper in maintaining existence in the digitalization era is conducting surveys, and the evaluation of the communication strategy of Riau Pos daily newspaper always evaluates every month, communication always gives a lot of miscommunication so that it causes a lot of discomfort. Evaluation is often used in the planning stage in order to try to select and prioritize various alternatives and possibilities for how to achieve previously set goals.
