THE EFFECT OF INSTAGRAM MEDIA EXPOSURE @PEKANBARUKULINER ON FULFILLING THE INFORMATION NEEDS OF FOLLOWERS

In the current technological human communication activities have been influenced and depended on the technology behind it which can also support communication between individuals. Technological advances and developments that continue to be significant make people try to adapt and keep abreast of developments. One account that utilizes social media instagram as a medium for disseminating culinary information is the @pekanbarukuliner account. This study aims to determine how much influence instagram @pekanbarukuliner media exposure has on meeting the information needs of followers. The theory used in this research is the Uses and Gratification theory.
The type of research used in this research is quantitative with an explanatory approach. Techniques through distributing questionnaires distributed to 277 respondents to followers account instagram @pekanbarukuliner. Techniques to determine samples using simple ramdom sampling. The data were then processed using SPSS 25 by performing validity tests, reliability tests, simple linear regression analysis, and determination tests reliability tests, simple linear regression analysis, and determination tests.
The results of this study indicate that the coefficient value of Y = 4,962 + 0,880 X, with a significance level of 0,000 is smaller than α = 0.05. The value of t is greater than t table, namely 17,154 > 1,968, the meaning of the calculation of the hypothesis is that Ha is accepted and Ho is rejected. There are also statistical calculations obtained in the summary model, the Rsquare value of 0,517 and the R value of 0,712, this means that exposure to instagram @pekanbarukuliner media simultaneously has a significant effect on fulfilling information needs.
