COMMUNICATION OF PEKANBARU PHOTOGRAPHY COMMUNITY GROUP (KFP) IN MAINTAINING GROUP COHESIVITY

Pandemic impactcorona Virus Disease (Covid – 19) has a big impact on all aspects of life. One of the communities that has felt the impact of Covid 19 is the Pekanbaru Photography Community (KFP), a community that involves many media gatherings to share information and experiences. KFP members feel the impact and consequences of Covid 19, namely members are forced to carry out activities that are diverted to the agenda in the network or what is commonly referred to as online. Undergoing photography activities through media communication is not an easy thing. Because the Covid pandemic has caused a lack of communication and a lack of intense meetings, it is feared that it will disrupt group cohesiveness at KFP. To keep the group cohesive, the researcher used Forsyth's group cohesiveness theory. This study aims to determine the communication patterns of the KFP group in maintaining group cohesiveness.
This study used a qualitative descriptive method with a constructive paradigm, located in Pekanbaru from April to June 2022. There were 10 research subjects using a purposive technique. The object of research is group communication, communication media, group cohesiveness. Primary data collection techniques are field observations, secondary data are books, journals, online news at Tribun Pekanbaru. The technique of collecting data is direct observation as a participant, participatinghunting photos, opening together and annual agenda. Unstructured technical in-depth interviews. Documentation in the form of photos of activities and sound recordings. Data analysis techniques in the form of data reduction, data presentation, drawing conclusions. Check the validity of triangulation data and observation intensity.
The result of this research is the communication pattern of the community. The star pattern is used for non-formal activities, namelyhunting Photo,gathering, Covid 19 occurred a communication pattern using a via wheel patternzoom meeting, the wheel pattern is used for formal activities such as meeting agendas. When the Covid 19 pandemic occurred, the internal media used by KFP to keep it running waswhatsapp Groupand alsozoom meeting. For media meetings, KFP conducts meetings, seminars, open discussions. For external media, both during the Covid 19 pandemic and before the Covid 19 pandemic, KFP continued to use social media, such asfacebook, twitter, instagram. The way for the KFP Community to maintain group cohesiveness is by frequently holding meeting agendas, such asanniversary, hunting photos, create and attendevent. Even when the covid 19 pandemic occurred, KFP maintained its cohesiveness by continuing to carry out meeting agendas online or online, conducting webinars, and discussing viazoom meeting andwhatsapp Group
