Penerapan Model Problem Based Learning Untuk Meningkatkan Kemampuan Pemecahan Masalah Matematis Peserta Didik Kelas VII.3 Smp Islam As-Shofa Pekanbaru
Abstract:
This research is motivated by the objectives of mathematics learning which require students to have mathematical problem solving abilities, but the reality in the field shows that students abilities in solving mathematical problems are still not optimal and are relatively low. This research aims to improve the learning process and increase students' mathematical problem solving (KPMM) abilities through the application of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model. This research is classroom action research which consists of two cycles, each cycle consisting of four stages, namely planning, action, observation and reflection. The subjects in this research were 26 students in class VII.3 of SMP Islam As-Shofa Pekanbaru. The research instruments used are learning tools and data collection instruments. The learning tools used consist of a syllabus, Learning Implementation Plan (RPP), and Student Worksheets (LKPD). The data collection instrument consists of observation sheets and student KPMM tests. Increase in the average KPMM test score from cycle I, namely 64.34 to 77.50 in cycle II. Based on the results obtained, it can be concluded that PBL can improve the learning process and increase the KPMM of students in class VII.3 of SMP Islam As-Shofa Pekanbaru.
