Analisis Gender Dalam Rumah Tangga Pengrajin Agroindustri Mie Sagu Di Kelurahan Selatpanjang Selatan Kecamatan Tebing Tinggi Kabupaten Kepulauan Meranti
The objectives of this study were (1) to describe the business profile and characteristics of sago noodle craftsmen in Selatpanjang Selatan Village, (2) to describe the production process of sago noodles in Selatpanjang Selatan Village, and (3) to analyze gender equality in terms of access, participation, control and benefits in sago noodle craftsmen households in Selatpanjang Selatan Village. The research method used is a survey method with the determination of respondents using a census technique consisting of four business owners and 13 workers in the sago noodle agroindustry in Selatpanjang Selatan Village. The analysis used is descriptive analysis and quantitative analysis. The results showed that the sago noodle agro-industry in Selatpanjang Selatan Village was inherited from generation to generation with different internal and external characteristics of the craftsmen. The production process of sago noodles in Selatpanjang Selatan Village consists of five stages, namely kneading, boiling, drying, molding, and packaging. Gender equality in sago noodle agroindustry households is still not equal, namely access to the sago noodle agroindustry is greater by men alone (husbands alone), participation or time expenditure in reproductive activities is greater by women (wives) while in productive and social activities is greater by men (husbands), decision-making control in reproductive activities is greater by dominant women (dominant wives) while in productive and social activities it is greater by dominant men (dominant husbands), the benefits obtained are greater from within the sago noodle agro-industry which is dominated by male business owners and female workers.
