Analisis Sektor Ekonomi Unggulan Dengan Pendekatan Sektor Pembentuk Produk Domestik Regional Bruto (PDRB) Kota Pekanbaru Provinsi Riau

One of the indicators needed to determine the economy of a region is gross regional domestic product (GRDP). As the provincial capital, Pekanbaru plays an important role in the economic growth of Riau Province.The purpose of this study is to determine the leading economic sectors in Pekanbaru City. This study uses secondary data, namely the Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) of Pekanbaru City and Riau Province on the Basis of Constant Prices (2010) according to business fields from 2012-2022. The analytical tools used in this study are Location Quotient (LQ) analysis, Shift Share analysis and Klassen Typology analysis. The results showed that the sector with the highest Location Quotient (LQ) value in Pekanbaru City was the Financial Services and Insurance sector. Then the value of Shift Share of Pekanbaru City with the category of growth rate and competitiveness is good is the Health Services and Social Activities, Information and Communication sectors, other services, Processing Industry, Large Trade and Retail; Car and Motorcycle Repair, and Construction. The results of the Klassen Typology analysis of Pekanbaru City show that the sectors that are developed and growing rapidly are the Construction, Large Trade and Retail sectors; Car and Motorcycle Sparing, Transportation and Warehousing, Information and Communication, Financial and Insurance Services, Corporate Services, Health Services and Social Activities, and Other Services. So based on the results of the three analytical tools used and based on the results of sectoral analysis, it was concluded that the sector that is the leading sector in Pekanbaru City is the tertiary sector, meaning the sector engaged in services.
