Penerapan Model Problem Based Learning Untuk Meningkatkan Kemampuan Literasi Statistika Peserta Didik Kelas Viii.3 Smp Negeri 42 Pekanbaru
This research was motivated by the low statistical literacy skills of students in class VIII.3 SMP Negeri 42 Pekanbaru which was caused by the teacher-centered learning process. One way that can be used to overcome this is by applying the Problem Based Learning model. This type of research is a classroom action research consisting of two cycles. Each cycle includes planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. This action was carried out at SMP Negeri 42 Pekanbaru even semester of the 2022/2023 school year in class VIII.3 students totaling 40 people. The research instruments used were learning tools consisting of syllabus, lesson plans, and student worksheets, while the data collection instruments consisted of observation sheets and statistical literacy tests. Observation sheets of teacher and learner activities were analyzed descriptively qualitatively and data on statistical literacy skills were analyzed descriptively quantitatively. The observation results showed that the learning process had improved from cycle I to cycle II where in the learning process students were active and learning was student centered. The results of the statistical literacy test showed an increase in the frequency of achieving statistical literacy skills of students. The increase in the frequency of students' statistical literacy test results increased from the initial test to the first statistical literacy test and from the initial test to the second statistical literacy test. The results showed that the application of the Problem Based Learning model can improve the learning process and improve the statistical literacy skills of students in class VIII.3 SMP Negeri 42 Pekanbaru.
