Penerapan Model Problem Based Learning (PBL) Untuk Meningkatkan Hasil Belajar Matematika Siswa Kelas VIII-1 SMPN 6 Siak Hulu

This research was motivated by the low mathematics learning achievement of class VIII-1 students at SMPN 6 Siak Hulu in the 2023/2024 academic year. The aim of this research is to improve the quality of the learning process and the results of mathematics learning achievement by applying the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model. The subjects of this research consisted of class VIII-1 students at SMPN 6 Siak Hulu in the odd semester of the 2023/2024 academic year, consisting of 15 male students and 12 female students with varying levels of ability. The research instrument involves the use of the syllabus, Learning Implementation Plan (RPP), and Student Worksheets (LKS) as learning aids. Meanwhile, observation sheets and learning outcomes tests were used as data collection instruments. The research results show an increase in the learning process from the basic score to each cycle, which is reflected in the increase in students' mathematics learning achievement. As a result of increasing the KKM, the following results were obtained in the knowledge and skills aspect, increasing from 11 students (40.7%) in cycle I to 14 students (51.8%) in cycle II, and reaching 17 students (62.9%) in cycle II. The conclusion of this research is that the application of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model has succeeded in improving the learning process and achieving better mathematics learning outcomes for class VIII-1 students at SMPN 6 Siak Hulu in the 2023/2024 academic year, especially in the material Two Linear Equation Systems Variable (SPLDV).
