Persepsi Pengrajin Agroindustri Mi Sagu Terhadap Kesetaraan Gender Di Kelurahan Selatpanjang Timur Kabupaten Kepulauan Meranti
The purpose of this study was to analyze the perception of craftsmen towards gender equality in the sago noodle agro-industry in Selatpanjang Timur Village, Meranti Islands Regency. The research method used was a survey method with a census technique and obtained 5 business owners and 12 workers in the sago noodle agroindustry in Selatpanjang Timur Village. The analysis used is descriptive analysis and quantitative analysis. The results of this study indicate that the characteristics of sago noodle craftsmen in Selatpanjang Timur Village are divided into internal characteristics and external characteristics. Craftsmen's perceptions of gender equality are seen from 4 aspects, namely access, participation, control and benefits. Access to information is dominantly done by men, access to procurement of raw materials is entirely done by men, access to technology has been done jointly by men and women, access to marketing is dominantly done by men and access to capital is done jointly through financial institutions, namely banks. Participation in planning, implementation and evaluation is carried out jointly, but participation in supervision is dominantly carried out by men. Control or decision-making in reproductive and productive activities was found to be dominated by women who carried out more of these activities, while social activities were carried out by men. In the benefits aspect, it was concluded that husbands played a greater role than wives in obtaining the income of artisan households.
