Eksplorasi Etnomatematika Pada Gedung LAMR Kep. Meranti Sebagai Sumber Belajar Geometri di Sekolah Dasar
This research aims to conduct an exploration of malay tradisional house and architecture in Meranti Island as a resource for learning geometry in elementary schools, as an effort to facilitate the process of learning mathematics with a cultural approach. The research method used in this study was ethomathematics approac. The data were collected from interviews, observations, documentation and field notes. The research results indicated that the tradisional house and architecture. Has ethnomathematics objects of flat and spatial shapes. Flat-shaped ethnomathematics objects square-shaped stair banister motif, square-shaped doors, windows and ventilation, triangle-shaped bamboo shoot motif fabric, rhombus-shaped ceiling, parallelogram-shaped stair banister, wrist/ trapezoidal doorstop. Ethnomathematical objects of building space pillars in the form of blocks, bolster pillows on traditional Malay pelamins in the form of tubes, roof sails in the form of a triangular prism. The geometric concept of flat and spatial shapes found in the tradisional house and architecture in the Meranti Island can be used as a source of geometry learning in elementary schools based on ethnomathematics.
