Uji Beberapa Konsentrasi Ekstrak Tepung Daun Kenikir (Cosmos Caudatus Kunth.) Terhadap Mortalitas Ulat Grayak Jagung (Spodoptera Frugiperda J. E. Smith.) Di Laboratorium
Corn is one of the third most important food commodities after rice and wheat. Efforts to increase corn production are still hampered by problems in crop cultivation such as attacks by fall armyworm pests (Spodoptera frugiferda J. E. Smith.). Attacks by the pest S. frugiperda result in yield losses of up to 15 - 73%, if the plant population affected is 55 - 100%. Pest control efforts in plant cultivation are recommended to use botanical insecticides because they are not harmful to humans or the environment. Plants that have the potential to be used as botanical pesticides are kenikir plants (Cosmos caudatus Kunth.). This research aims to obtain a concentration of kenikir leaf flour extract that is effective in killing Spodoptera frugiperda pests J. E. Smith. This research was carried out experimentally using a completely randomized design (CRD) consisting of 5 treatment concentrations with 4 replications to obtain 20 experimental units. Each experimental unit consisted of 10 third instar S. frugiperda larvae. The treatment given was kenikir leaf flour extract with a concentration of K0 : 0 g.l-1 water, K1 : 25 g.l-1 water, K2 : 50 g.l-1 water, K3 : 75 g.l-1 water, K4 : 100 g.l-1 water. Observation parameters consist of initial time of death, lethal time 50, daily mortality, total mortality, temperature and humidity. The results of the research showed that the application of kenikir leaf flour extract in a concentration of 100 g.l-¹ water was an effective concentration in controlling the S. frugiperda pest because it was able to cause a total mortality of 82.50% with an initial time of death of 10.75 hours after application and lethal time 50 at 41.25 hours after application.
