Pemberian Pupuk Organik Arang Ampas Kelapa Terhadap Pertumbuhan Dan Hasil Tanaman Ubi Jalar (Ipomoea Batatas L.)
Sweet potato productivity in Riau Province is relatively low despite high market demand. This study aimed to determine the effect of coconut husk charcoal application and identify the optimal dosage on the growth and yield of sweet potato plants. The research was conducted at the Experimental Garden of the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Riau. The experiment was arranged in a completely randomized design (CRD) non-factorial with 5 doses of coconut husk charcoal. Data obtained were analyzed statistically using analysis of variance and further tested using LSD (Least Significant Difference) at the 5% level. Parameters observed included vine length, number of branches, number of tubers per plant, and tuber weight per plant. The results showed that the treatment with a dose of 3.4 t.ha-1 was the best in promoting vine length growth. The treatment with a dose of 2.4 t.ha-1 was the best in terms of producing the highest number of branches, number of tubers per plant, and tuber weight per plant of sweet potatoes.
