Analisis Determinan Rumah Tangga Miskin Di Riau: Pengukuran Indeks Kemiskinan Multidimensi
Desi Damaiyanti. NIM. 2210246769. ANALYSIS OF DETERMINANTS OF POOR HOUSEHOLDS IN RIAU: MULTIDIMENSIONAL POVERTY INDEX MEASUREMENT. Supervised by Harlen and Any Widayatsari.
The issue of poverty alleviation is in the world's spotlight today. Monetary poverty measurements are considered only to be able to capture a small part of the various poverty problems that exist. Therefore, multidimensional poverty measurements are needed to explain the deprivation of poor people more broadly.
By using primary data in the form of raw data from the 2014-2023 National Socio-Economic Survey (Susenas) and the Alkire-Foster method, this research attempts to measure poverty based on various levels of deprivation experienced by people in Riau province. This research uses three aspects: health, education, and living standards.
Based on the processing results, it is known that all indicators simultaneously have a significant impact on monetary poverty. These indicators are calorie and protein consumption, years of schooling, school continuity, and indicators related to housing, such as floors, electricity, sanitation, clean water, cooking fuel, and asset ownership. The research results also show differences in the picture of poverty, measured only by considering monetary aspects, and poverty, calculated by considering multidimensional elements. The fact that the proportion of the population living in multidimensional poverty is more significant than that of the population living in monetary poverty means that even though these people are not classified as economically poor, they are still inadequate in various dimensions of poverty. Education contributes the largest to multidimensional poverty in Riau Province, followed by health and decent living.
