Uji Dosis Metarhizium anisopliae (Metsch.) Formulasi Tepung pada Kompos (Metankos) terhadap Mortalitas Larva Oryctes rhinoceros L.
Palm oil has an important role in Indonesia as the largest vegetable oil producer. One of the main problems of palm oil plants is the attack of horned beetle pests (Oryctes rhinoceros L.). O. rhinoceros attack can reduce production by 69% during the first harvest and 20% mortality in immature plants. Entomopathogen Metarhizium anisopliae (Metsch.) can be a safe alternative to control O. rhinoceros attack. This study aims to obtain the best dose of M. anisopliae (Metsch.) flour formulation in compost (Metankos) on the mortality of O. rhinoceros L. larvae. The research was conducted experimentally using a completely randomized design (CRD) with a method consisting of eight treatments with four replications, namely M. anisopliae flour formulation doses of (0 g, 30 g, 60 g, 90 g, 120 g, 150 g, 180 g and 210 g)/5 kg compost. Parameters observed were changes in behavior and morphology of O. rhinoceros larvae, initial time of death (hours), lethal time 50 (LT50) (hours), lethal dose (LD50 and LD95) (%), daily mortality (%), total mortality (%), conidia density, temperature and humidity. The results showed that the dosing of M. anisopliae flour formulation influenced the mortality of O. rhinoceros larvae with the best dose tending to be the dose of M. anisopliae flour formulation 210 g/5 kg of compost which caused larval mortality to reach 75.00%.
