Uji Efektivitas Ekstrak Daun Bidara (Ziziphus Mauritiana L.) Dengan Pelarut Organik Terhadap Mortalitas Ulat Grayak Jagung (Spodoptera Frugiperda J.E. Smith) Di Laboratorium
Maize (Zea mays L.) is an important crop after rice and wheat. Maize production in Riau decreased by 16.562 ton in 2021 and 10.696 ton in 2022 caused by Spodoptera frugiperda J.E. Smith. S. frugiperda must be controlled so as not to reach the economic threshold, but many still use synthetic pesticides that cause resistance, resurgance, and explosions of secondary pests. An alternative is use a botanical pesticide form jujube leaf extract (Ziziphus mauritiana L.) with 70% ethanol. Jujube is a potential plant because it has secondary metabolite compounds likealkaloid, saponin and flavonoid. Theresearch aimed to obtainthe concentration of an organic extract of jujube leaf that effective against the mortality of S. frugiperda. The research was conducted from November 2023 to January 2024, using a completely randomized design (CRD) consisted of six treatments with four replications to obtain 24 units, used concentrations of 0%, 0,2%, 0,4%, 0,6%, 0,8% and 1%. The observation parameters consist of the initial time of death, lethal time 50, lethal concentrations 50 and 95, daily mortality, total mortality, behavior and morphology changes, temperature and humidity. The result of the experiment showed application of an organic extract of jujube leaf at concentration of 1% is effective against S. frugiperda because it was caused total mortality until 82,50%, with an initial time of death of 7,25 hours after application, lethal time 50 at 52 hours application, lethal concentration 50 at 0,74% and lethal concentration 95 at 1,62%.
