The research conducted in July 2023 highlighted the negative environmental effects of darting coastal tourism development in Dumai City, Riau Province, particularly the accumulation of solid domestic waste in the waters. The study aimed to assess the abundance of this waste at Purnama Beach, Koneng Beach, and Beringin Indah Beach. Data was collected before, during, and after weekends, revealing six types of waste: plastic, cloth, metal, wood, glass, and styrofoam. Plastic waste had the highest density at 74.7 g/m2, while cloth waste was the lowest at 0.9 g/m2. Total densities were 7.21 g/m2 on weekends and 5.27 g/m2 after. The average abundance was 0.182 pieces/m2, with no significant differences between collection times or locations.
