Strategi Pengembangan Wisata Bahari Berkelanjutan Di Pantai Koneng Kota Dumai Provinsi Riau
Koneng Beach is located in Dumai, Riau Province. The sea waves on this beach are relatively calm, white sand, large stones are found around the beach and in the coastal area the soil is sandy up to 2-3 km inland. Koneng Beach is easy to reach and located about 19 km from the city center. However, the potential of Koneng Beach has not been supported by adequate facilities, tourist attraction and inadequate beach management so that it needs to be updated. These conditions affect the interest of tourists to visit the beach and this problem also has an impact on the development of Koneng Beach tourism. Research on the development strategy of Koneng Beach as a marine tourism destination was conducted using a survey method, with direct observation in the field.
The potential of Koneng Beach was analyzed based on 4A (Attraction, Accessibility, Amenity, Ancillary). Available attractions are speedboats, water volleyball, beach volleyball, and natural resources. Accessibility available are public transportations, large parking areas and adequate security facilities. Amenity (facilities) in the Koneng Beach are bathrooms, prayer rooms, restaurants, gazebos, souvenir shops and cleaning facilities (trash bins). While ancillary (institutional) facilities that are available are cooperation with PT UMK and the Medang Kampai Sub-District Office.
In the environmental aspect (Sustainable Coastal Tourism), Koneng Beach has a mangrove conservation area as a fish spawning ground and strengthened the beauty of the beach panorama. While in the economic aspect, there are community contributions in tourism management and joint business groups (Kube). The social aspects of the community around Koneng Beach are available are religion (Islamic) activities and dining together in the beach to increase spiritual value and community relationship.
The 1st priority strategy based on AHP analysis available is the business tourism (48.6%) which includes the availability of food and beverage culinary businesses, lodging businesses and car rental services. While the 2nd priority is community engagement tourism (28.4%), as the community is involved in mangrove area conservation activities. The 3rd priority is marine tourism activity (23%) that use the sea as a tourist destination based on its natural beauty.
