Sebaran Padatan Tersuspensi Total (PTT) Di Perairan Muara Ulak Karang, Sumatera Barat
Total Suspended Solids (TSS) in the waters reflect the amount of solid
particles suspended in the water. High TSS levels can reduce water quality, cause the death of aquatic organisms, and lead to sedimentation. This study aims to measure the TSS concentration during high and low tides, analyze the differences, and assess the water quality status of Muara Ulak Karang. Observations were made at 12 station points in January 2024. The results showed that the TSS concentration during high tide ranged from 15 to 54.5 mg/L and during low tide ranged from 13.5 to 85.5 mg/L. The Paired Sample T-test yielded a p-value of 0.026, indicating a significant difference between TSS concentrations at high and low tides. The Pollution Index in these waters ranged from 1.62 to 2.11, indicating that the water quality status is classified as lightly polluted, related to the high TDS values (>1000 ppm).
