Uji Konsentrasi Ekstrak Daun Sirih Hutan (Piper aduncum L.) dengan Pelarut Organik terhadap Mortalitas Ulat Krop Kubis (Crocidolomia pavonana F.) di Laboratorium
Fluctuations in cabbage (Brassica oleracea var. capitata L.) production in Indonesia are caused by several factors, one of which is the attack of cabbage crop caterpillar (Crocidolomia pavonana F.). Control using synthetic insecticides is the main choice of farmers in controlling Crocidolomia pavonana F., but it turns out that it can cause negative impacts such as pest resistance, recurrence, killing natural enemies, environmental pollution problems and harmful to humans. Another alternative control that can be done is using botanical insecticides from forest betel leaf (Piper aduncum L.). This research aims to obtain the concentration of organic extract of forest betel leaf that is effective against the mortality of Crocidolomia pavonana F. in the laboratory. The research was conducted experimentally using a completely randomized design (CRD) consisting of five treatments and four replicates. The treatments were 0%, 0.25%, 0.5%, 0.75% and 1% concentration of forest betel leaf organic extract. The observation parameters consisted of the initial time of death, lethal time 50, lethal concentration 50 and 95, daily mortality rate, total mortality, changes in behavior and morphology, temperature and humidity. The results indicated that the concentration of 0.75% of forest betel leaf organic extract is an effective concentration in controlling Crocidolomia pavonana F. larvae because it has been able to cause total mortality of 87.50% with the initial time of death at 4.75 hours, and lethal time 50 at 22.25 hours after application. The 0.75% concentration is an effective concentration because it is able to cause total mortality of more than 80%.
