ABSTRACT
The existence of water catchment areas is influenced by the rapid development of built-up land that covers the infiltration rate and has an impact on space utilization that causes impermeability, drought and reduced water storage. Rangsang Island with an area of ± 913.16 km2 and the population increasing every year causes the need for land management to increase as well. Thus, it is necessary to identify water catchment areas by referring to the Minister of PUPR Number 10 of 2015 and the Minister of LHK Number 10 of 2022. Identification is carried out by scoring and combining maps (overlay) of determining parameters, namely soil type, rainfall, land use, and slope. So that the results of the analysis of water catchment areas in PUPR Regulation Number 10 of 2015, the distribution area of good conditions is 547.56 km2 (59.96%), normal natural conditions are 365.58 km2 (40.03%), critical conditions are 0.008 km2 (0.01%). And the Minister of LHK Number 10 of 2022, the distribution area of good conditions is 297.498 km2 (32.57%), natural normal conditions are 614.62 km2 (67.30%),), critical conditions are 1.04 km2 (0.13%). Thus, it shows that there is a significant difference between the two regulations.
