“Pengaruh Cyberloafing Dan Budaya Kerja Terhadap Kinerja Karyawan Dengan Self Control Sebagai Variabel Moderasi Pt. Besmindo Materi Sewatama”
ABSTRACT
This study aims to examine the influence of cyberloafing and work culture on
employee performance, with self-control as a moderating variable, among
employees at PT. Besmindo Materi Sewatama. The research is based on the
growing phenomenon of internet usage for non-work activities during working
hours, and the essential role of work culture and self-control in shaping employee
performance. A quantitative approach was applied using a survey method. Data
were collected through questionnaires distributed to 110 permanent employees of
the company. The analytical technique employed was Partial Least Squares (PLS)
using the SmartPLS version 4.0 software. The research instruments were tested for
validity and reliability before conducting the structural model analysis to assess
relationships among variables. The results revealed that cyberloafing has a positive
and significant effect on employee performance. Work culture also shows a positive
and significant influence on performance. Additionally, self-control has a direct
significant effect on performance. However, self-control does not moderate the
relationship between cyberloafing and performance, nor between work culture and
performance. These findings suggest that well-managed cyberloafing can function
as a psychological break that enhances productivity, and a strong work culture
directly contributes to improving employee performance.
Keywords: cyberloafing, work culture, employee performance, self-control.
