This study aims to analyze the difficulties of learning physical education, sports and recreation in schools, especially for mentally retarded students, generally mentally retarded students have limitations in IQ so that they have difficulty in following physical education, sports and recreation learning in schools. A qualitative approach was chosen to describe the research phenomenon. The sample in this study was 6 mentally retarded students and 1 sports teacher. The results of the study were obtained through a series of interviews that were asked directly to the research sample where it was known that in the process of learning physical education, sports and recreation at SLB Negeri Kuantan Singingi experienced difficulties from various factors including intelligence, attention, teaching methods and student-student relationships.
