Hubungan Kerapatan Mangrove Dan Produksi Serasah Dengan Kelimpahan Siput Bakau (Terebralia Sulcata) Desa Dompas Kecamatan Bukit Batu Kabupaten Bengkalis Provinsi Riau

The research had been done on September-November 2011 in The
Dompas Village, Bengkalis Regency, Riau Province. The purpose of this research
is to understand the relationship among the density of mangrove, litter production
and the abundance of Terebralia sulcata. There were 4 stations and 3 plots in each
station. Mangrove density and T. sulcata abundance were studied once, while
litter production was sampled 3 times (15 days period) .
Results shown that there were 7 types of mangrove, namely Avicenia alba,
Sonneratia alba, Rizhopora apiculata, Bruguera gymnororrhiza, Lumnitzera
racemosa, Xylocarpus granatum and Nypa fruticans. The density of mangrove
was ranged from 733 to 1,367 trees/ha. Litter production (dry weight) was around
17.11-99.38 ton/ha/year. The abundance of mangrove snail T. sulcata in the
station I, II, III and IV were 20,133; 37,600 ; 49,467 and 15,600 organisms/ha
respectively.
The relationship among the density of mangrove, litter production and the
abundance of mangrove snail was Y = -27399.4 + 55.62X1+ 2.41X2. It means that
there was strong relationship between mangrove density, litter production and
mangrove snail abundance.
