Penentuan Jenis Dan Dosis Optimum Koagulan Kimia Pada Pengolahan Air Gambut Dengan Menggunakan Biosand Filter
Peat water is one of the water sources that available in nature and it doesn’t use maximal for clean water supply. Peat water has characteristic brown color to black color (319-455 PtCo), organic matters(120-310 mg/L KMnO4), turbidity (19,86-72,4 NTU), and acid (pH 4,7-5,4). That condition makes peat water can’t be use for water supply, so it need tratment before used. One of the alternatif treatment for peat water is using chemical coagulan in processed coagulation, floculation, sedimentation, and filtration with biosand filter. The purpose of this research was determined a kind and dose of coagulan so those got the best quality based on color, pH, turbidity, dan organic mattesr. Water source was taken from local environment in Jalan Rajawali Sakti Pekanbaru. This research used some kinds of coagulans such as tawas, tawas and PAC, dan FeCl3. This reseacrch showed that coagulan tawas and PAC with dose 90 mg/L and 45 mg/L was already had met five recommendation Permenkes No. 416 Tahun 1990 about clean water with pH 6,5, color 41 PtCo, turbidity 0,1 NTU, and organic matter 10 mg/L KMnO4.
