This research is focus on explanation research by using library and interview study
method. Limit study from January 2006 until November 2006. Using realism point of
view with some concepts, which elaborated with the concept of diplomacy as a
framework, the diplomacy setting theory and Power as a support theory and also
influence variables which contribute to implementation of diplomacy and power. Consist
of the diplomacy setting from Jhon T. Rourke, diplomacy from S.L. Roy, Ernest Salow,
Sumaryo Suryokusumo, Power theory from Hans J Morgenthau, Couloumbis and Wolfe
and influence variables from K J Holsti. The sources of this research are from the
articles on internet, newspaper, and from Indonesia foreign affair department.
The study is focus on the diplomacy effort to solve the dispute between Indonesia and
Australia, after the asylum political is given by Australia. Further more this research will
explain about the Indonesian Diplomacy decision making step background in solving the
disputes. Toward Indonesian side view in economic quality, military, and capability
consideration.
The dispute of the countries over when they are signing agreement settlement, the
Indonesia-Australia security agreement. This agreement not only an ending symbol of the
dispute by a sovereignity confession, but also an anticipation effort forward between
Indonesia-Australia relation in a new security agreement framework so in hope toward
can increasing the cooperation, trusty, and mutual understanding in both of two
countries.
