Analisis Kesesuaian Daerah Penangkapan Ikan Terhadap Sebaran Klorofil-A Menggunakan Citra Satelit Landsat 8 Di Kawasan Perairan Sungaitohor Kabupaten Kepulauan Meranti
Chlorophyll-a is one of the important oceanographic parameters determining the abundance and distribution of fish population. The aim of this study was to determine the local fishing ground and its comformity with chlorophyll-a distribution in marine waters. This research was conducted in marine waters of Sungaitohor, Kepulauan Meranti Regency. Field survey and satellite imagery analysis were applied both in the field and in the laboratory. Data were taken from field in February 2017 and chlorophyll-a concentration analysis were done in the laboratory in March 2017. The research found that there were 4 fishing grounds in marine waters of Sungaitohor. Chlorophyll-a concentration in area of research based on laboratory analysis ranged between 0.878 – 7.356 μg/l and from Landsat 8 satellite imagery estimation ranged between 0.806 – 9.541 μg/l. Validation of both data showed a very strong relationship (r = 0.8634) and not significantly different. Furthermore, the suitability of fishing ground with chlorophyll-a concentration was at the level of 75%.
Keywords: Fishing ground suitability, chlorophyll-a, Landsat 8, marine waters of Sungaitohor.
