Pembuatan Seal Tabung Gas Dengan Filler Lempung Dan Karbon Hitam
The main component of clay are Silica (Si) 38,51%; Magnesium (Mg) 37,98%; Oxysigen (O) 37,98%; Aluminium (Al) 14,50%; Iron (Fe) 5,41% Pottasium 1,69% dan Titan (Ti) 0,69%. High silika content make a clay can be used as a filler on making gas cylinder seal. Gas cylinder seal is a rubber seal used in gas cylinder as a connector between LPG and stove. The research aim to make a gas cylinder with clay and carbon black as the filler, determine the effect of black carbon and clay variation on rubber compounds and gas cylinder seal and to decide the best compotition of the variation based on the test performed. The research fixed variable is the additives compotition and the affects variable are carbon black and clay comparison 50:10, 30:30 and 10:50 phr. This research indicated that carbon black and claycomparison have effect to churing characteristic, tensile strength, elongation at break, dimension and compression set. The best treatment is obtained at compound 1 (50 phr carbon black and 10 phr clay) with the value of tensile strength is 17,5 MPa, elongation at break is 500%, dimension and compression at set is 7,41%. Based on test parameters can be concluded that gas cylinder seal with clay and carbon black as the filler meet the SNI7655:2010 requirements and can be used as a filler on gas cylinder seal making.
