Wood resak with the Latin name Vaticia Rassak is Indonesian original wood which has strong class II and durability class III. not fulfilled of long dimensions for structural elements, then there is a connection. The type of connection extension tool used for extension of wood is a bolt connection tool, and if the bolt joint is combined with epoxy type adhesive, it is expected to add more strength to withstand extreme loads that occur. This study aims to test the shear strength of the joint extension rod with bolt combination and epoxy adhesive with Universal Testing Machine test equipment. The test object was made 3 replications with 3 variations of the test object (bolts, bolts with adhesive slices, and bolts with adhesive on the hole). The test results showed that the shear strength of the joint extension of the rod with bolts and adhesive on the slice plane showed a strength increase of about + 31.02%. For bolt and adhesive epoxy joint test specimens in the hole did not increase, even decreased by -13.86%. the connection bolt and adhesive connection in the slice plane show good gluing performance making it suitable for large capacity connection designs and increase connection reinforcement.
