Ekologi Dan Ethogram Peneluran Penyu Hijau (Chelonia Mydas) Di Kecamatan Tambelan Kabupaten Bintan
Internationally, sea turtles are one type of animal whose presence in nature is endangered. Tambelan District, is a coastal area that is visited by many sea turtles with the aim mostly to lay eggs. The large number of turtle eggs needs is not only for additional consumption of Tambelan people, but to meet the needs of people outside Tambelan, so that turtle eggs continue to be taken for trade. There is still a lack of literature information and scientific data base on turtle habitat and ethogram, so it is necessary to conduct research on the Ecology and Ethogram of Green Turtle Spawning (C. mydas) in Tambelan District, Bintan Regency. This study aims to analyze the ecological characteristics of the green turtle nesting coastal habitat, analyze the ethogram of green turtle nesting and analyze the relationship between the characteristics of the nesting sea habitat with the number of green turtle eggs.
The method used was a survey method obtained from 3 research stations and 9 sampling points. Habitat parameters measured: nest humidity, beach slope, nest distance, nest temperature, sand type, coastal flora and fauna type, vegetation criteria, sea water temperature, DO, pH, salinity, brightness and current speed. Ethogram parameters measured: morphometry, number of nests and eggs, egg laying patterns and egg laying behavior.
The results showed the ecological characteristics of Tambelan good and natural as a green turtle nesting area with a normal nest humidity value of 16,20-28,50%, flat beach slope to ramps 2,40-13,60%, nest distance 23-73 meters, optimal nest temperature 27,50-31,15oC, gravel type sand nest sand, 7 types of flora and 23 types of coastal fauna, sparse vegetation with density
