Strategi Pengembangan Industri Kerajinan Anyaman Rotan Di Kecamatan Pangkalan Kuras Kabupaten Pelalawan

This study aims to determine the strategy of developing the rattan woven handicraft industry in Pangkalan Kuras District, Pelalawan Regency.
The research population was all 28 rattan wicker handicraft industry players in Pangkalan Kuras District. The sampling technique in this study is the census that the entire population is sampled, it is because the total population is less than 100. Measurements made in this study are using a questionnaire while analyzing the technique is by SWOT analysis.
Based on the results of the study, it was found that the main strengths of the rattan wicker handicraft industry in Pangkalan Kuras Subdistrict are the quality of the products in accordance with the tastes of consumers. 0.82, While the main opportunity for the rattan woven handicraft industry in Pangkalan Kuras Subdistrict is a very open market with rattan wicker handicrafts with the highest score of 0.62. And the main threat to the rattan woven handicraft industry is the number of competitors with a score of 0.60, the next threat is the existence of substitute products (substitution) with a score of 0.42, then the availability and method of obtaining raw materials and the final threat is the existence of policies relating to raw materials so as to encourage the scarcity of raw materials with a score of 0.17. These results are seen from the highest score of the indicator. Based on the IE Matrix is in the S-O strategy column, it is because the meeting between IFAS and EFAS is on opportunities and strengths. Where from there can be referred to the strategy used is the S-O strategy, which is a strategy prepared by using all the strength to seize the opportunity.
