Organic matters from high anthropogenic activities on Sungai Indragiri Estuary Indragiri Hilir Regency Riau Province can cause several impacts to marine environment. Makrozoobenthos as bio-accumulation organism can be indicator for organic matter consentration in . The aim of this research is to determine correlation between organic matter consentration and abundance of makrozoobenthos in sediments of Sungai Indragiri Estuary. The method used is survey method that is taking surface sediment and makrozoobenthos using Ekman Grab and sieve 1 mm size on 4 stations which consisted 3 substation in each station. Sample was carried out at the lowest tides with 5 repetitions for each substation. The result of the research showed that organic matter consentration in sediments was found nearly 7,6 – 11,9%, and the highest consentration is on station 3 (11,9 %). The abundance of makrozoobenthos between stations were not significantly different (p > 0,05). The correlation between organic matter consentration and makrozoobenthos abundance showed weak-positive correlation.
