Pola Distribusi Udang Galah (Macrobrachium Rosenbergii) Pada Ekosistem Mangrove Kampung Rawa Mekar Jaya Kecamatan Sungai Apit Kabupaten Siak Provinsi Riau

Macrobrachium rosenbergii used to migrate to mangrove ecosystem during spawning season. However, The presence of this prawn is related to the condition of the mangrove in general. To understand the prawn distribution in the Rawa Mekar Jaya mangrove, a research was conducted in July 2019. The prawns were captured using fishing rods (no 3) in 3 sampling points, 5 hours/ day, 7 days. The captured prawns were then analyzed (meristical and morphometrical characteristics) and the distribution index was calculated. Results shown that the distribution index of shrimp in each sampling point was different. In the 1st and 2nd sampling points, the prawn distribution patterns were uniform, while that of the 3rd sampling point was random. The TL of prawn capture ranged from 110-250 mm, and the body weight ranged from 31-140 g. All of the prawns captured in the mangrove area during the study was female that has egg remains in there abdomen, indicated that the prawns have spawned their eggs in the mangrove waters.
