Identifikasi Jenis Ikan Di Perairan Sungai Umban Sari Kecamatan Rumbai Provinsi Riau

Abstract
Human activities around the river can affect aquatic organism that lives on it including fish. A
research aims to identify the types of fish caught in Umban Sari river was conducted in
September 2019. Samplings were conducted weekly. The fish was sampled using several net
types (mesh size 0.1-1.0 inch) and fishing rod. The fish sampled were identified based on
Koetellat et al (1993) and Saanin (1984). Result shown that there were 308 fish sampled, they
were belonged to 7 families, 12 genera, and 12 species. The common fish are belonged to
Cyprinidae, while the least fish was belonged to Cobitidae. The water quality of Umban Sari
river were as follows: temperature of 27-290C, water transparency 22.8-32.6 cm, current speeds
of 0.23-0.35 m/sec. pH 6, Dissolved oxygen of 4.21-5.01 mg/L, and CO2 of 4.3-5.2 mg/L.
