Komponen Fitokimia Dan Toksisitas Ekstrak Lamun Thalassia Hemprichii Terhadap Artemia Salina
ABSTRACT
Many of marine ecotourism activities on Nirwana beach has had a negative
impact to the development of seagrass ecosystems. Pressure that occurs on the
coastal ecosystem becomes a trigger factor seagrasses to adapt with produce
certain compounds for maintain immunity, the name is bioactive compounds. This
research was aimed to know toxicity to Artemia salina and phytochemical
component of Thalassia hemprichii seagrass by using experimental method. Two
seagrass extracts with different solvents have been made in the Marine Chemistry
Laboratories for use in toxicity and phytochemical tests. The results of the study
showed phytochemical component produced is a tannin compound from extract
with both of solvents, alkaloids and triterpenoid compounds on methanol solvent.
Concentration of T. hemprichii extracts influencing A. salina death with higher
concentration, make higher organism death rate. Extracts with n-hexane and
methanol solvent are as effective for knowing percent mortality from toxicity test.
Toxicity of T. hemprichii seagrass from Nirwana Beach with n-hexane and
methanol solvent to A. salina included in toxic category with LC50 value of
446.872 ppm and 218.183 ppm.
