Kajian Potensi Ekowisata Mangrove Di Kampung Sungai Kayu Ara Kecamatan Sungai Apit Kabupaten Siak

Mangrove ecotourism is currently in great demand by the community. Sungai
Kayu Ara Village, Sungai Apit District, Siak Regency, Riau Province has a
mangrove forest which is used as a mangrove ecotourism area and is starting to be
visited by many local people. The research objective was to assess the potential of
mangrove ecotourism based on the carrying capacity of the ecosystem and to collect
data on the potential of mangrove forests by identifying mangrove species and
calculating mangrove density data taken by the line transect plot method. Data taken
in 1 observation station. Observations consist of 3 transects, each transect has 3
plots, each plot has a size of 10x10 m2, perception and socio-economic data
collection is carried out through interviews by giving a questionnaire to nine local
visitors, it is found that the category of local tourists is visitors aged 13-57 years,
provided that IRT 5 people, 2 students, and 2 village staff. Most of them come from
the surrounding community. Data analysis using the Tourism Suitability Index
(IKW). The results showed that the IKW reached 70.63%. (appropriate), and the
strategy for developing mangrove ecotourism in Sungai Kayu Ara Village based on
the SWOT analysis and interviews is to prioritize the W-O strategy.
