Kajian Potensi Dan Strategi Pengembangan Ekowisata Bahari Pulau Pagang, Kecamatan Koto Xi Tarusan, Kabupaten Pesisir Selatan, Sumatera Barat

This research was conducted in January - February 2020 on Pagang Island, Koto
XI Tarusan District, Pesisir Selatan Regency, West Sumatra. The research aims to
determine the potential of marine ecotourism and its strength aspects in the waters
of Pagang Island to be developed as a marine ecotourism area. The method used
in this research is a survey method. Determination of the station point by
purposive sampling. The results of the calculation of the Tourism Suitability
Index Value are 74.4% (Station I), 89.1% (Station II), 76.2% and (Station III).
Assessment of strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats, the development
of the potential of Pagang Island waters is assessed from the results of
observations at the research location, interviews and questionnaires. Pagang Island
has the potential as a marine ecotourism area such as natural beauty, coral reefs,
and unique marine life. The strategy for developing marine tourism objects on
Pagang Island can be carried out by 1) Arranging the area by forming a zoning
system for marine tourism activities and activities carried out by the community
towards coastal ecotourism activities and coastal environmental management, 2)
increasing national and international scale promotion, 3) Arranging the
arrangement tourism space or zoning with various related agencies and local
communities.
