Analisis Dinamika Populasi Ikan Selar Kuning (Selaroides Leptolepis) Dalam Upaya Pengelolaan Sumberdaya Ikan Pelagis Kecil Di Perairan Bintan, Provinsi Kepulauan Riau
Bintan regency has considerable fishery and marine potential, both
capture fisheries and aquaculture. This is because the area of Bintan Regency is
mostly a marine area with generally sandy, muddy and rocky beaches. Most of the
Bintan people are fishermen who use marine fisheries resources in an effort to
make ends meet. One type of fish caught by fishermen is the yellowstripe scad
(Selaroides leptolepis). Yellowstripe scad is a schooling pelagic fish. This fish is
one type of consumption fish that is widely used by the community as a food
ingredient and as a source of income. yellowstripe scad is caught in coastal
waters and lives in groups up to a depth of 80 m and is one of the most popular
fish for the community. Many people use this fish as raw material for processed
fishery products such as salted fish, grilled fish, pindang, fish meal and surimi. In
addition, this fish is also traded fresh.
The high demand for selar fish will result in higher fishing numbers.
Overfishing and uncontrolled fishing causes overfishing and decreases the fish
population in the wild, but it can also affect and change the status of the
yellowstripe scad resource stock. If the fishing condition of the current
yellowstripe scad resource continues, it can lead to a decline in the population of
the yellowstripe scad, so it is feared that in the future the yellowstripe scad
population will be threatened, either in the form of extinction, genetic degradation
or stock decline. Given the importance of yellowstripe scad, prudent management
measures for this fish species are needed to ensure the sustainability of stocks and
sustainable catches. Although the potential of yellowstripe scad resources is still
quite large, if it is exploited continuously without a sustainable management, then
in the future there will be a decrease in the stock of the resource and it can even
be threatened with extinction. Therefore, researchers are interested in conducting
research on "Analysis of Population Dynamics of yellowstripe scad in the
Management of Small Pelagic Fish Resources in Bintan Waters, Riau Islands
Province". This study aims to analyze the growth rate, mortality and recruitment
rates of Selar kuning (Selaroides leptolepis) and to provide information on basic
data on the management of small pelagic fish resources (Selar kuning) in Bintan
waters. This research was conducted in February-June 2019 at the Barek Motor
Fish Landing Place (TPI) with the fishing area in Bintan waters using a survey
method.
The results showed that the number of fish studied was 2.550 fish with a
length of 102-215 mm and a weight of 15-102 grams. The highest condition factor
value is (0.83) and the lowest (1.09). The growth pattern in yellowstripe scad is
negative allometric, which means that the length gain is faster than the weight
gain. The Von Bertalanffy equation formed is Lt = 23.41 [1-e-0.81 (t + 0.2118)].
The temporal variation of the condition factor of the monthly yellowstripe scad
during the study did not show a significant difference. The highest recruitment
xvi
peak occurred in May (18.11%) and June (19.48%). The total mortality rate (Z) of
yellow selar fish is 4.61 per year with a natural mortality rate (M) of 1.66 per
year and a fishing mortality rate of 2.95 per year so that the exploitation rate is
0.60. The mortality of yellowstripe scad in the Bintan Sea is mostly caused by
fishing activity (F) of 2.95 per year. Some recommendations for the management
of yellowstripe scad resources in Bintan waters, such as: (1) adjusting the size of
the mesh, (2) setting limits on the size of fish that can be caught, landed, or
marketed, (3) control of the fishing area, and (4) monitoring and systematic data
collection on the production of yellowstripe scad both for sale value, for
consumption and for waste.
