Analisis Eksperimental Kuat Lentur Sumbu Kuat Dan Sumbu Lemah Balok Baja Profil C Kanal Menggunakan Stiffener
ABSTRACT
One of the section that is widely used is the C channel steel section. C Kanal steel
sections are generally used as rollers. The gording beam experiences bending in two
directions, namely on the strong axis and the weak axis. C channel section steel beam
also has a fairly large ratio of width to height. This can lead to failure of structural
elements such as buckling. This study aims to analyze the effect of using a stiffener on
the C channel steel section. Flexural testing is carried out on two specimens in the
strong axis direction and two other specimens in the weak axis direction. The test
object is modeled with a stiffener installed and without a stiffener. Flexural strength
testing is carried out using a loading frame. In the experimental bending test, it was
found that the maximum elastic limit load on the C channel sectione in the direction
of the strong axis without stiffening was 7.1 kN with a deflection of 5.08 mm. whereas
in the beam given stiffeners, the maximum load elastic limit is 9.5 kN with a
deflection of 6.1 mm. The percentage increase in the strong axes without stiffeners
and with stiffeners is ± 20%. As for testing the C channel section steel beam in the
weak axis direction of the beam without stiffener, the maximum elastic limit is 10.2
kN with a deflection of 13.88 mm. whereas in the beam with a stiffener, the maximum
load elastic limit obtained is 14.9 kN with a deflection of 28.56 mm. The percentage
of increase in the strong axes without stiffeners and with stiffeners is ± 51.40%. It can
be concluded, the use of a stiffener on the strong axis increases the stiffness by ±
11.43% and increases the strength in the object, but on the object in weak axis
direction has a decrease in stiffness by ± 40.86%.
