ABSTRACT
The number of cases of acts of violence against cats committed by some people
point out that there are still many gaps in cats occurred as a result of lack of
public attention towards cat welfare. The gap that occurs in cats is not only
experienced by street cats, but also occurs in pet cats. This case too is the
background of the emergence of Cat Lovers as a group of people who care about
the welfare of cats. A container is needed for Cat Lovers especially in Pekanbaru
in order to overshadow all the activities that they have do with the aim of
providing welfare to the cat in the form three main activities namely care,
education, and recreation. Cat Lover Center present to answer the problem of the
container needs in running activity for Cat Lovers in Pekanbaru. The Cat Lovers
Center will one day become a place that can not only be enjoyed by Cat Lovers
and also general public in Pekanbaru who are interested in cats, but also for cats
through the facilities provided and activities that are held. The design
development of the Cat Lovers Center uses an Architectural approach
Expressionist. Expressionist Architecture Approach is applied to buildings The
Cat Lover Center can communicate the expression of caring lovers cats to the
welfare of cats to the general public as a form the importance of the right to
prosperity for cats, as well as being one of the icons in the city Pekanbaru with
the characteristics of the Cat Lovers Center building at Pekanbaru.
