ABSTRACT
Creative economy or commonly called the creative industry in Indonesia is
currently becoming an important topic in the development of a country. Human
creativity is the main economic resource. Most creative industry players are
young people who have unlimited levels of creativity and potential. So that it can
encourage the development of creative industries in Indonesia. The creative
industry has grown rapidly seen from several regions in Indonesia. This makes
the number of enthusiasts in the creative industry increasingly. At the tertiary
level in Indonesia the number of applicants exceeds the amount of capacity
provided. Therefore it is necessary to design formal facilities that are engaged in
creative industries such as the College of Fine Arts and Design. Pekanbaru is a
city that has developed rapidly and has a positive influence on regional economic
growth. The need for the construction of the School of Fine Arts and Design in
Pekanbaru, given the number of art and design enthusiasts in Indonesia is not
balanced with sufficient capacity. The absence of art and design education
institutions in Pekanbaru is one of the reasons that Pekanbaru needs such
education institutions. Expressionist architecture was chosen as the theme of the
design object, it is intended for the building to be designed to be a medium of
communication to reflect the senior nature without Borders and can give a sense
of passion and cheerful also a source of inspiring to the building users.
