ABSTRACT
The development of an area all aspects of the planning and analysis process must
be considered carefully, whether the development can be a solution to the existing
problems or can even be a new problem in the area. In this case the development
of the Air Putih Bengkalis Port Area is one of the efforts to provide solutions to the
existing problems that have been lacking in these crossing ports. The problem is
the lack of a passenger terminal, less than optimal facilities within the port, poorly
regulated port circulation, not yet optimal utilization of waterfront areas
(Waterfront) as a potential area and lack of green open space within the port area.
The development of Air Putih Bengkalis port using the Waterfront Architecture as
a design theme. Development of the port area by optimizing the utilization of the
physical and visual potential of the existing port by developing it as a recreational
tourism area with a waterfront architecture concept. The Ship Sails concept is used
as a design transformation in the port area. The screen concept was chosen to be a
characteristic or icon of the tourism sector and economic progress in Bengkalis
district through the development of its port area.
