Upaya Indonesia Mempertahankan Program Generalized System Of Preference (Gsp) Amerika Serikat
In 2018, the United States announced that it would conduct a review of
Indonesia's eligibility to receive the United States Generalized System of Preference
(GSP) facility. This is done because the United States considers that Indonesia
implements various trade and investment barriers that have a negative impact on
United States trade, including due to the policy of import regulations for horticultural
products, the imposition of the National Payment Gateway (NPG) and so on. Then
with these conditions, how are the Indonesian government's efforts to maintain the
United States GSP program. Therefore, this study argues that Indonesia continues to
make efforts to ensure Indonesia's eligibility as a recipient country by meeting the
provisions of the United States.
This research uses qualitative methods supported by the Liberalism
Perspective and the Nation-State level of analysis. The concept used is the National
Interest with International Trade Theory.
This research concludes that the efforts made by the Indonesian government
are initiated by approaching the United States government, then eliminating trade
barriers to restricting imports of horticultural products and enforcing national
payment gateways and ensuring the protection of Intellectual Property Rights (IPR).
These steps can be used as a negotiating force as well as ensuring Indonesia accepts
the United States GSP facilities.
