ABSTRACT
The existence of historical heritage buildings during the Dutch colonial era in
Pematangsiantar City is one of the potential historical tourism destinations. Currently,
there is Ria Cinema as one of the old buildings that are not functioning and abandoned.
Revitalization with function conversion as a solution to reuse neglected buildings that
have historical value. Through the Expressionist Architecture approach with the
analogy of the concept of "expression from turning the past to be remembered" which
is depicted on the film player. Revitalization with the addition and improvement of the
function of the Ria Cinema can improve the tourism sector in Pematangsiantar city.
